William (Bill) Martin has first-chaired roughly 100 jury trials over his career, which is a rare level of trial experience these days. He has spent most of his career defending insureds and corporate clients in personal injury cases, including many years as staff counsel for Nationwide, Farmers, and Liberty Northwest. Bill can evaluate risk quickly, understands the expectations of insurance carriers, and has a great feel for how juries think.

Before joining us, he spent several years at a Portland defense firm handling cases for State Farm and USAA. More recently, he worked on the plaintiff side, which gives him valuable perspective on opposing strategies and how to navigate settlement leverage.
