Lisa Lear is a seasoned appellate attorney and litigation strategist with over three decades of experience navigating complex legal issues across state and federal courts. Known for her sharp legal writing, meticulous case analysis, and deep command of appellate advocacy, Lisa has earned recognition by the Martindale Hubbell Judicial Program as well as an Oregon “Super Lawyer” and holds an AV Preeminent rating — a testament to her excellence in legal ability and ethical standards.
Lisa’s legal career has spanned prominent roles, including serving as a shareholder at a litigation firm where she led over 150 appeals, including matters before the Oregon Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is especially sought after for her ability to distill complex legal issues and craft compelling, strategic briefs.
In addition to her appellate work, Lisa has provided litigation support across all phases of trial and pre-trial litigation — drafting persuasive motions, conducting legal research, and developing legal strategies that drive results. She has also trained trial lawyers in appellate preservation and streamlined legal processes by designing court-compliant systems and tools.
Lisa is admitted to practice in Oregon and before multiple federal appellate courts, including the Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College, and holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado.
