Brandon Smith

Partner

Brandon is an experienced litigator and legal advisor with a practice focused on complex litigation and providing general counsel services to clients. He has extensive experience with disputes concerning construction, product liability, personal injury, contracts, fraud, insurance, lien rights, and other related areas. His clients include property developers, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, product distributors, transportation companies and individuals.

Brandon has been recognized as a leading construction and litigation attorney in Washington by Super Lawyers among other industry honors.

Brandon is also active in the community. He has volunteered with numerous pro bono legal clinics and regularly advises a number of non-profit organizations.  He is also a passionate outdoorsman and volunteers as a trip leader for a non-profit organization offering outdoor experiences designed to promote teambuilding and community engagement.

Outside of the office, Brandon enjoys spending time skiing, hiking, and golfing, and is an Oregon Ducks football and Seattle Sounders season ticket holder.

  • Shipstad v. KRM Innovations, Inc. et al.
    Obtained defense verdict at trial for international product manufacturer in multi-million dollar claim by product user for personal injuries.
  • In re Suntop Farms
    Successfully defended contractor in arbitration of $9 million breach of contract and defective construction claims involving 289-home development.
  • ZSA, Inc. v. Woodinville Building Services LLC
    Obtained defense verdict at trial for subcontractor against claims of breach of contract by general contractor in construction of Seattle-area Mosque.
  • BPC, Inc. v. DSEM LLC et al.
    Successfully obtained full verdict at trial for general contractor in breach of contract and collection claim against developer of car dealership and obtained defense verdict of counterclaims.
  • Fares v. LIV DDI, LLC et al.
    Obtained arbitration verdict for landowner in negligence and breach of contract action against inspection company that failed identify issue that caused catastrophic fire.
  • Sixth & Lenora Apartments LLC v. Aquatherm GmbH et al.
    Represented product distributor against multi-million dollar claims for breach of contract and product liability and obtained summary judgment dismissal of product representative’s breach of contract claims against product distributor.
  • Puget Sound Energy, Inc. v. Pilchuck Contractors, Inc.
    Successfully defended appeal by Puget Sound Energy in Division I of the Washington Court of Appeals regarding dismissal of PSE’s $17 million claim for indemnity.
