Zijiao Lao
Associate Attorney
Zijiao (Thea) Lao is an associate attorney in the Seattle office of HWS Law Group LLP, admitted to practice in federal and state courts in Washington State. Her practice focuses on personal injury and construction litigation.
Originally from China, Zijiao relocated to Seattle in 2016. She obtained her LL.M degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law. Prior to joining HWS Law Group LLP, Zijiao represented over one hundred plaintiffs in a complex EB-5 litigation and provided legal counsel to startups.
In her free time, Zijiao has a passion for writing, drawing (watercolor and acrylic painting), and playing Guzheng, a 2500-year-old Chinese musical instrument she learned during her childhood. She loves outdoor activities with her husband and two daughters, including stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, and camping.
