Maxwell A. Wesemann

Associate Attorney

Max is an associate attorney in the Seattle office of HWS Law Group LLP, and focuses his practice on representing businesses and individuals in complex litigation including construction defects, insurance defense, personal injury, tort defense, property damage and real estate disputes. Max assists his clients with all facets of pending and active litigation, including pre-suit advice and negotiation, discovery, motions, mediation, arbitration, and trial.

Before joining HWS Law Group LLP, Max worked as an Assistant State Prosecutor for the 4^th Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he gained significant trial litigation experience, trying more than a dozen cases to verdict.  Max’s desire to understand the strength and weaknesses of his cases from all parties’ perspectives also enabled him to quickly reach positive negotiated outcomes in the face of ballooning criminal dockets during the heart of the pandemic.  He carried his service-oriented principles with him into civil practice and prides himself on providing strategic and pragmatic guidance to his clients to help navigate any contentious and complicated problem they may face.

Max obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and his juris doctorate from University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, Max worked as a Legal Research and Writing Professor’s Assistant helping first year law students discover and refine their legal writing.  He was also a chair member of the Pro Bono board where he organized a U-Visa application program, provided legal research and assistance to appointed defense attorneys in their representation of Guantanamo Bay Detainees, and volunteered at legal aid pop-ups sites at local Homeless Shelters.

In his free time, Max enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest, snowboarding, and trying to replicate new cooking recipes.
